Just for Fame or Fame for Just?

The title of the post is probably very much similar to that of Jimmy Carter’s ‘Just War or a Just War!’ but the inside thing is quite different. Carter’s target was international politics while I’m being a very common civilian will attempt to have my say on a National issue. This post of mine would have gone on air if mighty WAPDA had have a bit of mercy on me. Anyways, the decision by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on July 20, 2007, was a worth considering decision in the history of Pakistan. We’ve been proven as a just nation where justice is of prime importance.

Does it really so? What we are running for, ‘Justice’ or ‘the justice’?

I’d not like to discuss the personality of any of their highnesses Mr. G.P. Musharraf and Mr. C.J, but the happenings associated with them. Whatever the demand of each party was shouldn’t have been compensated with the blood of innocent civilians. C.J finally found happy to have justice at the cost of blood and probably Mr. President happy at the economic aspect of this bloodshed.

Both of the heroes are still on the way to have further proceedings. But is it the way nation needs them? Do they deserve to be trusted? The way Karachi bathed in the blood on 12th June, the high alert in Islamabad after the killings of innocent people in F8, the bomb blast in Kohat following another one at Balochistan are some of the attempts to make general public realize that how mean the politics can be if it aims to have personal benefits out of it.

Neither I’m against the parties involved in all this stuff, nor their supporter, but I need answers of some questions. And I’m damn sure none of them would be brave enough to reply to me. Anyways, telling the masses what I want to know may have no effect on the development of the society, but possibly some others of have same questions in mind.
Well, I want to know:

1- Whom we’ve to trust by now onwards? Uniform or the Justice!

2- What is the cost of a normal Pakistani becoming the food of political clashes?

3- Is media doing what it should have done?

4- What is the exact meaning/definition of ‘justice’ in Pakistani context?

5- Who is above justice? The government, the judiciary or the politicians

6- Can we ever become a just society? If yes, how and when?

What To Do While Hiring An Employee?

Few days back one of my readers requested me to have my say on management and career related issues, so here goes some outline of Human Resources Management. This post is specifically with reference to the management of hiring process. With the emergence of HR trend, the organizations have been observed going great guns. The history of Human Resources Management is not that old, but the fast and instant growth and development in the field has made it a bit complex phenomenon as well. Here we talk specifically about the development of the Human Resources, increasing their productivity and providing them a better platform to exhibit their potentials. This process of development is not very short and hence needs and depends on strategic planning, i.e. Employment Screening, and time to time Assessment.Today, I’ll be specific by mentioning some tips for hiring an employee.

Hiring is said to be the most crucial part of the process for an organization. While considering, the ability, potentials, qualifications and professionalism of an individual his professional image is constructed within the mind of the HR Manager, but one thing that most of the HR Managers do not consider is the part performance and professional loyality of the candidate. In manual concerns this can be dealt by requiring porper references and by varifying the information from those particular stations. It’s quite time taking and may not result in 100% satisfaction as well, so consulting a professional service provider of employees’ screening will be a wise idea. Screening an employees records will not only help the manager getting more authentic results, but will also help the organization to get the creame.

Though accepting challenges and risk taking is one of the plus point for good managers, but taking risk at the cost of organization’s interest will not be a good idea. Hiring a professional to check the employees’ background minimizes the risk and hence increases the probability of success.

Attempt to Bring Islam in Islamabad

I really don’t remember when did I last read an Urdu book but getting into flashback reminds me of ‘Hawayaan’ by Dr. Raouf Parekh. I didn’t read the whole book but an extract of it in a magazine titled as ‘Rahnuma-e-Karachi’. I’m not going to discuss what Dr. Saheb has written about Karachi here, but what about Islamabad. He says that Capital was brought to Islamabad via train in a great haste, but Islam couldn’t come here only the city got ‘abad’.

Though I wanted to write about the issue since the day it was observed, but couldn’t find any point to write on. Today while just remembering this writing of Dr Saheb, I happened to catch a point to write on. I think the authorities at Lal Masjid might have read this piece of writing by Dr Saheb and this made them to attempt to bring Islam in Islamabad.

Well, the issue is not that light I’ve started with. It’s has some deep roots, and of course ultimate and hazardous consequences. As a whole it was not only an attempt to destroy the peace of innocent citizens but also to deploy the image of Pakistan on international arena. Let’s forget the international aspect for a moment; the effects at national level are also not of less importance.

Whatever the culprits have done and are responded accordingly is not the matter to discuss now. What should be the future strategies is the major issue. What should a normal citizen do, what are the responsibilities of government and what steps to be taken by the religious leaders are the major points to focus on.

Being an average citizen, I’m of the opinion to start the re construction of our attitudes within our selves. Don’t look at what the others are doing; just consider what’s in the maximum benefit of the whole group. Islam as I’ve explained with examples in my past posts doesn’t support violence at any stage, it is peace; peace of soul at individual and group level. And for me every that thing which stimulates violence doesn’t come in the circle of Islam, hence what I’ve concluded is that the Hafsah Defiance and the Lal Masjid Issue as it was basically aimed to create violence among the general masses, cannot be categorized as an act within the limits of Islam. This is what I think, people are free to agree or disagree.

Government along with many other executive duties is not solely responsible for the act, as the act falls in the category of terrorism. And the main cause of all kinds of terrorism is the ‘lust of power’. But one thing that needs to be built on strategic grounds is the effective communication between government and the religious leaders.

And finally what I expect from religious leaders is to present the essence of Islam using the mass media. They can unite the broken links of the society at this time. Along with religious leaders I expect from the authorities who are controlling the political system of Pakistan while being away at continents’ distance to be loyal to the people and to guide their followers in the right way.

Recalling my memories……….!

Some two weeks back I happened to be there on a tour to northern areas. After a long long time of stress and continuous work, it was a great pleasure to have an outing like this. Though the tour was a short one consisted of two days only, but the amount of enjoyment I had was countless. I wish that time could last forever, but nothing can be done now. It was none too difficult if I would have been aware of the benefits of camcorders by that time and would have one in my hands.

The portable device with superb functions though doesn’t take you physically to the memorable past, but lets you in there mentally. Now I’m back to work and recall my memories to get relaxed, but I’d have enjoyed much if I’d have been able to display the events again and again to get refreshed. By next time I hope to have a camcorder with me, so will I recommend my readers to have such.

Past events though do not make progress in your life, but memorable moments reenergize you if they are repeated frequently. Making life happy is all in your hand, just make it the way you want.
